It uses the modern EyeDropper API built into Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera). When you click "Pick Color from Screen", the browser shows a magnifier; click any pixel on your screen and the tool captures the exact HEX, RGB and HSL values. No screenshot or upload required.
EyeDropper API is supported in Google Chrome 95+, Microsoft Edge 95+, and Opera 81+. Firefox and Safari do not support it yet. If you're on an unsupported browser, you'll see a friendly message and can still use the manual color picker.
You get three standard formats: HEX (e.g., #FF5733), RGB (e.g., rgb(255, 87, 51)), and HSL (e.g., hsl(9, 100%, 60%)). Each can be copied with a single click. Perfect for web design, graphic work, and development.
Recently picked colors are stored in your browser's localStorage. They persist across sessions until you clear your browser data. Up to 12 colors are shown; older ones are automatically removed. Click any history bubble to reload that color.
