📘 Sprouting FAQ
Sprouting unlocks nutrients, enzymes, and vitamins, making seeds more digestible and healthier for parrots and other pet birds. It mimics the fresh foods they eat in the wild.
Most seeds and grains need 8–12 hours of soaking. Larger beans may require up to 24 hours. Use this tracker to set your custom soak time.
Rinse every 8–12 hours to keep sprouts moist and prevent mold. Always drain thoroughly after each rinse – standing water can cause spoilage.
Most seeds show tiny tails after 1–3 days of rinsing. You can serve them as soon as tails appear or let them grow longer. Use your birds’ preferences as a guide.
