Screen Capture mode uses your browser's built-in Screen Capture API (getDisplayMedia). When you click the capture button, your browser will display a dialog allowing you to choose which tab, window, or entire screen to share. Once selected, the tool captures a high-resolution snapshot of that content. This is the most reliable way to capture any browser tab, including pages with complex layouts, videos, and interactive elements. The screen sharing stops immediately after the snapshot is taken for your privacy.

Screen Capture mode: Supported on Google Chrome 72+, Microsoft Edge 79+, Mozilla Firefox 66+, Safari 13+ (macOS only), and Opera 60+. Note that Safari on iOS/iPadOS does not support the Screen Capture API.

HTML Render mode: Works on all modern browsers including mobile Safari, as it uses the html2canvas library which renders HTML content to an image entirely within the browser. This mode is great for mobile users or when Screen Capture is unavailable.

• PNG: Lossless format, best for screenshots with text, UI elements, and sharp edges. Produces larger file sizes but preserves every pixel perfectly. Ideal for documentation and professional use.
• JPEG: Lossy compression, significantly smaller file sizes. Best for photo-heavy screenshots or when file size matters more than perfect clarity. You can adjust the quality slider (10-100%).
• WebP: Modern format offering both lossy and lossless compression. Provides smaller file sizes than both PNG and JPEG at comparable quality. Supported by all modern browsers.

Screen Capture mode: Captures exactly what is visible in the selected tab or window at the moment of capture—the visible viewport only.

HTML Render mode: Yes! The html2canvas library can render the entire HTML content, including parts that extend beyond the visible preview area. This makes it excellent for capturing full-page layouts, long articles, or complete designs. Simply ensure your HTML content is fully rendered in the preview area before capturing.

Absolutely. All screenshot processing happens entirely within your browser. No data is ever uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server. The Screen Capture API requires your explicit permission each time (via the browser's native dialog), and the screen sharing stream stops immediately after the snapshot is captured. In HTML Render mode, your HTML code never leaves your device. This tool is 100% client-side and privacy-safe.

The delay timer is incredibly useful when you need to:

• Hover over elements to reveal tooltips, dropdown menus, or hover states before the capture
• Navigate to specific content after selecting the tab—the countdown gives you time to scroll or switch views
• Set up animations or transition states at just the right moment
• Organize multiple windows before the snapshot is taken

Choose from Instant (no delay), 3, 5, or 10 seconds depending on your needs.

The Clipboard API requires a secure context (HTTPS) and may be blocked by some browsers' permission settings. Try these solutions:

• Ensure you're accessing this tool over HTTPS
• Check your browser's clipboard permissions in site settings
• As a fallback, use the Download button to save the image, then copy it from your file manager
• On Firefox, clipboard write access may require user interaction—try clicking the button directly (not via keyboard)
• Right-click the preview image and select "Copy Image" as an alternative

HTML Render mode uses html2canvas, which is a powerful library but has some limitations:

• Some modern CSS properties like backdrop-filter, mix-blend-mode on certain elements, and complex clip-path values may not render perfectly
• Cross-origin images (images hosted on other domains without CORS headers) may cause rendering issues or appear blank
• SVG animations and some CSS animations are captured as static frames
• Plugin-based content (Flash, Java applets) cannot be rendered
• Very large or complex DOM trees may take longer to process

For the most accurate screenshot of any webpage, use Screen Capture mode instead.

For the highest quality screenshots:

• Use PNG format for lossless quality, especially for text-heavy content
• In Screen Capture mode, the resolution matches your display's native resolution—use a high-DPI/Retina display for the best results
• Ensure your browser zoom level is at 100% for accurate pixel rendering
• In HTML Render mode, the canvas is rendered at the preview's natural dimensions; larger preview areas yield higher resolution outputs
• For JPEG, set the quality slider to 95-100% for near-lossless results

This tool focuses on fast, high-quality capture. However, you can change the output format and quality before downloading to suit your needs. The preview area shows exactly what will be saved.
